My evening, in one picture [Read the full post, before you say I can’t count!].

  • 1L Carrot & Potato Soup [Red Thermos]
  • 1L Tea [Blue Thermos]
  • Kindle.
  • Lunchbox containing: Cheese & Ham Roll, Banana, Apple.

What more could you need? The plan is to read from - well now [around 5:20pm] until the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Ooh - and the reason for two pics? I didn’t want anyone to think I’m that narcissistic, that I’ve only got a picture of myself as my Kindle Screensaver. Said picture is me meeting one of my favourite novelists - Michael Connelly, so it’s book related.

My screensavers are also set to random, as indicated by the second picture, which shows a different one.

Saturday Night…

I’d usually opt to snuggle up in bed and read a book. Decided to mix it up a bit: I’m going to snuggle up in my living room, instead with:

  • Copious amounts of Tea.
  • A 8 Variety Biscuit Box.
  • The Wire Season 1.

[Fret not, I’ll read tomorrow, instead!]

Tonight’s Selection: “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close”

If that doesn’t capture my interest, I’ll read Foucault’s Pendulum.

Talk about two different types of book.

One of these Saturdays…

I shall venture out, consume copious amounts of alcohol and narcotics, dance ones tits off, and end the night engaged in some shenanigans that’d put Lindsay Lohan to shame. I believe that’s what society deems “normal” behaviour for someone my age.

Tonight, however, I shall retreat to my bed, resplendent with super fluffy duvet, and start reading a new book. To add a bit of spice - I’m not sure what book it’ll be.

Might even be one of them old physical / printed books - you just never know. Talk about excitement!

:P

Edit: And there will be biscuits. Chocolate ones, Scottish ones, even ones fit for a timelord.

How to spend Saturday Night…

In Bed for 7pm, with a nice pot of tea, and a bloody interesting book (The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America) which’ll probably turn into an interesting film in a few years (Leonardo DiCaprio recently secured the rights to it).

You jelly? ;)
