Breaking: There WON’T be a ‘Full Series’ of Doctor Who in 2012

Seriously, internet?!? I pop online to check the times for something, and instead get to read this?

Edit: So here’s how the saga goes. Private Eye, a UK ‘satirical’ magazine published an article saying that the BBC were looking to end the show, after 50 years. The plan, was for 4 ‘feature length’ specials, in 2012, followed by a 10 - 14 episode ‘finale season’, in 2013, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who.

Which sounds crazy. And was denied by the BBC. However, speaking at an event earlier today, Danny Cohen, one of the producers, has stated that there won’t be a ‘full series’ for 2012.

As for what that means Who knows? Maybe they’re splitting Season 7 over two years?

I take a Scott Pilgrim approach to alcohol (in that, for the most part, I don’t drink alcohol - especially at the moment), however I’d be lying if I said that there aren’t certain beverage combinations that I’m partial to - very, very occasionally. Mostly, back when I’d drink before going out (and we’re talking what - does maths - around seven odd years ago) I was a Vodka and Red Bull kinda guy, however, later on in life I discovered the wonder - and by wonder, I mean sure fire way to lose all your inhabitions and do people things you’d rather forget, that is Jack Daniels and coke. Quick shot - or two, of JD, then a JD and coke during the evening - worked for me - until the next morning. However, there’s just something not quite right about the above picked Jack Daniels and Cola in a can. I dunno what it is - but I’d imagine it tastes awful. They’ve probably used a small amount of Jack Daniels, and cheap awful cola. I guess it’s a weird thing to buy - and then blog about, especially coming from someone who can honestly count on one hand, the number of times he’s drunk alcohol in the last 5+ years, but the small, minute part of me, that likes the taste of Jack Daniels, thinks it’s wrong. Anyways - while I do have my eye on a celebratory shot of Jack Daniels - hopefully early in 2011, I don’t think it’ll be coming via a tin - Instead…
