Looking for recommendations Re: John Green.
Long story short, aside from this account, I also run a tumblr stream that revolves around eBooks / eReaders. Because of that, I track almost every conceivable tag that relates to those topics, that you can imagine.
Over the last few days / week, I’ve seen quite a few people reading The Fault in Our Stars on their Kindles / Nooks.
I don’t know all that much about Green, other than his books seem to have that rare gift - critically lauded, and loved by thousands of people. Well that, and he’s quite vocal on not giving a hoot how people read his books.
So I’m putting this “out there” - Green fans, if you had to recommend one of his books, to someone looking to check out one of his books for the first time..
Which one [and if there’s space in the reply box] - Why?
![Three suggestions for Looking For Alaska, and one for The Fault in Our Stars. A quick look at Wikipedia [more on that in a moment] seems to suggest that TFiOS might be a bit too close to home, with regards the subject matter. So I’ll go with Looking For Alaska.
Also - I was able to reserve it from the library! They’ve finally upgraded & or fixed, the ticket system. Basically, before, adults couldn’t borrow books that were classified as “Young Adult” or “Junior Fiction”, as is the case with Looking For Alaska. So instead of reserving online, you had to walk into the branch, ask a library assistant [or librarian, if you could find one¹] to grab it off the shelves, and process it for you.
Seems like they’ve fixed that now. Which is good.
¹Through no fault of their own - they were just spread a little thin. Budget cuts and all that.](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lxxnk4nKD01qa7o0ko1_500.jpg)
