[UK] So long Best Buy

I had planned on popping in yesterday, to see what was on offer, but I had other things to do. The stores close officially in a few hours time.

If the other 10 Best Buys in the UK are anything like the one near me, then sadly this isn’t all that much of a shock. Everytime I’ve gone in, there’s only ever been a handful of customers - you know a store is struggling when there are more floor staff than customers! Also - the prices weren’t as excellent as people might think. Their DVDs / Blu-Rays, whilst being noticeably cheaper than HMV [Who aren’t?] were still expensive compared to Amazon. Granted a lot of their electronics were reasonably priced, but how many people are making big electronic purchases at the moment? Then there’s the fact - and again I can only speak for the branch near me - it was never really promoted properly. A lot of people don’t even know there’s a Best buy at the Merry Hill Centre - and it’s not as if it’s a small store. So yeah - not that much of a surprise, but sad none the less.
