Edit: interesting how fast the alleged terrorism angle has spread; some will doubtless argue this is media overreaction. Others will draw other conclusions.

Had I not been lazy this previous weekend, I’d be about to start cooking the trimmings to go with the remainder of a roast chicken. Alas, I didn’t quite feel like cooking it. Therefore, the only roast chicken this evening comes via the Roast Chicken flavoured Pringles.

I plan to cook said chicken (now residing in my freezer) this coming weekend.

Reading my dashboard - and the comments on more than a few technology sites, it would seem quite a few of you are concerned about Yahoo! possibly announcing tomorrow, that they’re the new owners of tumblr.

Put your mind at ease, by using the above service, to generate a series of .html backups of your blog. They might not look all that pretty, but it’s a quick and easy way to back up your stuff, short of importing it to another service [such as Wordpress]

I've just spend 15 minutes looking at pictures of Yorkshire puddings, and roast chickens on Reddit.

Being a bit of a silly billy, I bought a Chicken Friday night, but decided I didn’t want to cook it this weekend. So in t’freezer it went.

Which was fine. But now I want a sunday roast. And said chicken will take 24 hours to defrost.

The alternative would be to hussle ass to the local carvery. Which, truly, is too much hassle.

Doctor Who series finale spoilers:

Spoilers follow, from this point:

The episode - for the most part - was fine. Still not bothered about Clara, though they did a good job explaining the central “mystery” of her character.

The “interactions” with the previous incarnations of The Doctor were cool.

Now let’s talk about John Hurt. It was revealed a while ago that he was playing The Doctor in the 50th Anniversary episode, so that wasn’t a big surprise. What was a surprise, was seeing him in this episode.

Only “11” says he isn’t The Doctor.

Predictions:

1: Either he’s a “forgotten” or discarded incarnation of the Doctor, occurring sometime between 8 and 9. This would vie with the costume Hurt has been photographed wearing on set. If he is, then that means Tennant is actually 11, and Smith is 12. Moffat and Co. have retconned Whovian history previously - it’s a good job, as originally The Doctor could only regenerate twelve times.

2: Or alternatively? Hurt is actually The Valeyard.

I’m buggered if I know, at this point. I just hope the CGI for the 50th is better than this evenings.

Well shit, that’s next weeks commute into / from work sorted.

I’m still exclusively using my Kobo Mini, so I’ll have to remove the DRM and convert to .epub but I’ve got the process automated at this point. I could buy it from the Kobo store, but whilst I’m comfortable with two separate devices, I’m not about to start buying books from two different ecosystems.

So it’ll be purchased from Amazon, and content shifted over to the Kobo.
