Neal Stephenson doesn’t appear anywhere in the list of the Top 400 “borrowed” authors in U.K libraries.
Ironically - given the bullshit from yesterday, I’m currently putting the finishing touches to my “Yes they’re awesome - but here are five reasons why they might not be around for much longer” post / article, on the threats to public libraries.
I’m half-tempted to scrap it, and say they should all be closed, for not encouraging enough people to borrow his books.
Not in the Top 400? Surely that can’t be right? Jesus Christ, Katie Price / Jordan, is in the Top 400 [Just about - she’s #399]. How can that vapid waste of space be among the UKs top 400 borrowed authors, and someone like Neal Stephenson isn’t?
