Despite my teeth seemingly wanting to drive me to the point of insanity [Background: Post #1 | Post #2] I managed to drag myself along to Michael Connellys’ Book signing in Birmingham today.
I was #2 in the queue! Had the bus driver been a little bit quicker, I could have been #1, as the guy in front of me - “Baz” got there at 9:25am, and I was there at a little after 9:30am. The actual signing was scheduled between 12:30pm - 1:30pm, and Michael got there around 12pm [He walked past us, talked for a bit, then went inside]. He started signing around 12:15pm, and while I can only comment on the person before me, and myself, he didn’t seem rushed - he answered any questions and was happy to pose for photos - twice in my case, as the first one didn’t quite come out right the first time [The Waterstones employee, who asked us if we wanted dedications in the book or not, and who handled the photos, put her hand over the lens by accident].
Fortunately I was able to quickly “pop back in” and get a photo taken after the third person in the queue.
So yay!
I’m now going to go and take some strong painkillers, lie down in bed, and catch up with some reading.
